We glued crepe paper streamers to the bottom of the pot and tied yarn at the handles

Five Green Shamrocks
Five green shamrocks growing outdoors
(child's name) picked one, and that left four
four little shamrocks, green as they can be
(child's name) picked one, and that left three
three little shamrocks, playing peek-a-boo
(child's name) picked one and that left two
two little shamrocks, nodding in the sun
(child's name) picked one, and that left one
one little shamrock for St. Patrick's day fun
(child's name) picked it, and that left none

This is My Turtle
This is my turtle (make a fist)
she lives in a shell
she likes her home very well
she pokes her head out (stick out your thumb)
when she wants to eat
and pulls it back in (tuck thumb back in)
when she wants to sleep

Little Turtle
I had a little turtle (make a fist)
he lived in a box (put hand over fist)
he swam in the water (make swimming motions)
and he climbed on the rocks (make one hand climb up the other arm)
he snapped at a mosquito
he snapped at a flea
he snapped at a minnow
and he snapped at me
(clap on the word snapped)
he caught the mosquito
he caught the flea
he caught the minnow
(make grabbing motion on the word caught)
but he didn't catch me (shake head and wiggle finger back & forth)
