September 20, 2017 Story Time - Woolly Mammoths & Mastodons

If you missed this weeks story time here is what we did:

*marks the books we read

Thank you to the firefighters from the Antonia Fire Protection District for being our readers today!

Why Why Why were mammoths woolly?  by Mason Crest Publishers, Inc. *
A Mammoth in the fridge  by Michael Escoffier
Mammoths and Mastodons  by Susan H. Grey
Mammoth and Me  by Algy Craig Hall*
Wild and Woolly Mammoths  by Aliki
How To Wash a Woolly Mammoth  by Michelle Robinson*

For our craft we colored a picture of a woolly mammoth, then glued black and brown yarn to it's body to make it look woolly

Extra Activities
The Mammoths in the Ice Age
(sung to "Wheels on the Bus")
The mammoths in the Ice Age went
toot, toot, toot,
toot, toot, toot
toot, toot, toot
the mammoths in the Ice Age went
toot, toot, toot
all around the land

Repeat with other verses:
The tiger in the Ice Age went growl, growl, growl
The wolf in the Ice Age went howl, howl, howl
The ground sloth in the Ice Age moved slow, slow, slow
