January 20, 2016 Story Time - Romp & Stomp
If you missed this weeks story time here is what we did
*marks the books we read
Romping Monsters, Stomping Monsters by Jane Yolen*
Rainforest Romp by Tony Mitton
Rhino Romp by Jean Craighead George
Dinosaurumpus! by Tony Mitton*
If You're a Monster and You Know It by Rebecca & Ed Emberley*
For our craft we made a dinosaur puppet (like the one pictured here):
We covered the dinosaur with small pieces of tissue paper and taped it to a colored craft stick to make it a puppet.
Extra activities:
Open, Shut them
Open, shut them, open, shut them, give a little clap
open, shut them, open, shut them, lay them in your lap
creep them, creep them, creep them, creep them, right up to your chin
open wide your little mouth....
but do not let them in!
open, shut them, open, shut them, give a little clap
open, shut them, open, shut them, lay them in your lap
Five Enormous Dinosaurs
(we talked about what enormous means, then did this fingerplay)
Five enormous dinosaurs,
letting out a roar
one danced away,
then there were four!
Twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, ROAR!
Four enormous dinosaurs,
crashing down a tree
one skipped away,
then there were three!
skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, ROAR!
Three enormous dinosaurs,
eating tiger stew
one twirled away,
then there were two!
twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, ROAR!
Two enormous dinosaurs,
resting in the sun
one shook away,
and then there was one!
shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, ROAR!
One enormous dinosaur,
left all alone
he wiggled away,
and then there were none!
wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, ROAR!
