July 24, 2013 Story Time - Plants
If you missed this weeks story time here is what we did:
(*marks the books we read)
Over in the Garden by Jennifer Ward*
From Seed to Plant by Allan Fowler
Plant a Little Seed by Bonnie Christensen*
Once There Was a Seed by Judith Anderson and Mike Gordon
Something is Growing by Walter Lyon Krudop
A Green, Green Garden by Mercer Mayer*
Plantzilla by Jerdine Nolen
For our craft we decorated small plant pots with foam shapes.
Extra activities:
A Little Sun
A little sun (hold arms above head)
A little rain (wiggle fingers in the air in a downward motion)
Now pull up all the weeds (pretend to pull weeds)
Our plants grow, all in a row (hold up all ten fingers lined up like plants)
From tiny little seeds (hold thumb and finger to show size of seeds)
Flowers Tall and Small
Plants tall (lift arms up)
Plants small (hold hands closer together)
Count them one by one,
Blowing with the breezes
In the springtime sun
1,2,3,4,5 (touch each finger as you count)
