For our craft we glued two shooting stars (like the one pictured below) to black paper, then added stars and planets with bright crayons.

For our craft we colored a sun similar to this one and added a craft stick to make a sun puppet

Hokey Pokey Sun
(We used our paper suns to do the Hokey Pokey)
You put your sun in, you put your sun out
you put your sun in and shake it all about
you do the hokey pokey, and you turn yourself around
that's what it's all about!

We talked about the solar eclipse coming up this Monday, August 21, 2017:
*How does an eclipse happen?; the moon moves between the sun and the earth and casts a shadow over the sun
*What happens during an eclipse?; it will get dark, birds will stop singing, bugs will start chirping, the temperature could drop a few degrees, etc
*What are safe ways to look at the eclipse?; using a pin hole projector and wearing solar glasses
